Rehabilitation services can help.
The outpatient rehabilitation services department at Tamarac will provide free screening to anyone considering the need for physical, occupational, or speech therapy services.  If a screen identifies the need for a formal therapy evaluation, your physician will be notified and a referral to therapy will be requested. An evaluation will be initiated upon approval of the need for services from your physician or primary care provider.

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy promotes health and wellness by preventing the onset and/or slowing the progression of physical conditions caused by injury, disease or aging. As a member of the health care team, a Physical Therapist evaluates and treats individuals of all ages who have experienced functional changes resulting from pain, orthopedic injury, surgery and its impact on the body, neurological injury, congenital defects, wounds, inflammation and injuries related to work and sports.

Speech Therapy
Speech-Language Pathologists, also referred to as Speech Therapists, assess speech and language development, treat language and speech disorders and help people with swallowing problems. The Speech Therapist Assistant (STA) assists the Speech Therapist in providing these services. At Gerber Memorial Health Services, the Speech-Language Pathologist works with other rehabilitation and medical professionals plus the patient’s family to provide a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy promotes health and wellness by helping individuals achieve the highest level of independence in all facets of life. As a member of the health care team, an Occupational Therapist works along with a patient to assure that a meaningful and satisfying life is possible, despite limits brought on by injury or illness.

Bridge to Wellness
Once you’ve completed your skilled therapy intervention, you will be invited to continue your wellness journey through Citizenship at Tamarac. Your therapist will provide you with a gift of Citizenship. The week long trial pass will afford you full access to all that Tamarac has to offer as you contemplate your ongoing commitment to health and well-being. Following your free trail, a wellness promotion representative will contact you regarding any questions or needs you may have.
